Nature Tripping (and Buffoonery) at Little Baguio, Malita, Davao Del Sur

Why my recent Malita trip with crazy college friends was one of the best laags I've had was because we were able to gallivant to places, to many new places, FOR FREEEEEE!!

They say the best things in life are free so yeah, haha!

Before we returned to Davao after a brief Sta. Maria-Malita excursion, in line with Jamie's birthday celebration, Jamie's older bro took us to some nature tripping.

Where? Little Baguio, Malita, Davao Del Sur!!
Where particularly? To no less than Malita's Mayor Benjamin Bautista Jr.'s rest house! Thank you Kuya Owen! (Kuya Owen's family is a close family friend of the mayor's so that explains our easy access to the exclusive rest house) :D

The trip to Little Baguio was nearly a one hour ride from Malita proper but you wouldn't notice the time at all because of the amazing view by the mountains and trees around you. Communing with nature has never been this peaceful. :) CHAAARRRter Change!

Here are the enchanting views of the lush-green paradise situated at the mountaintops of a silent municipality like Malita. Really, you'd wish you could stay here forever.

Reminder: Drooling is not prohibited.

We reached the place before noon and had our lunch. Paul, who brought a suitcase filled with gowns and wigs, never missed this moment to don his creations for pictorial purposes. There were solo pictures, group pictures and "Sisa"-inspired pictures.

And the kabuang started:

After gorging grilled fish for lunch, we trekked a little to reach the waterfalls where we dipped despite the biting cold. Let me remind you that we were at the top most portion of Malita, Davao Del Sur, where pine trees grow effortlessly and the air's chill gives you chicken skin. Taking a dip at the river's waters was almost paralyzing. We dipped nonetheless. ;)

On our way to the waterfalls...

At the waterfalls.. I wished I had the courage to do some diving here :(

We can't stay long in the place, no matter how badly we would have wanted to, because we had to catch the last bus trip to Davao at 5 pm. So by 3 pm, we embarked on another almost 1 hour-ride back to Malita proper, but this time I made sure I sat at the back portion of the pick-up so I could have a better view of the nature that surrounded us.

We occasionally stopped for picture takings because the views were indeed too breathtaking to miss. It was so cold, there were already fogs along the way as early as 3 pm.

And so that ends our Little Baguio adventure! Time really flies so fast when you enjoy it. CHARMOS. Too bad we only had limited time to fully enjoy the place, but we thank Jamie's family for adopting us in their home and touring us around their beloved hometown.

Till next time, Malita! WE SHALL RETURN. WITH A BANG!
