12 Lessons "2012" Movie taught us

"2012" is a 2009 science fiction disaster film that shows us how the world will end in 2012. Its grueling and (exaggerated?) effects can frighten you if you have watched this before 2012, especially if you're one of those prophecy-believer freaks who believe in Mayan calendar thingy. But if you watched this just after the year 2012, then you might just feel proud to have survived a bunch of wrenching natural calamities that could have been.

Nevertheless, there are 12 lessons the film 2012 has taught us. And the movie made us realize the following life-changing revelations:

1. Estranged couples can spark their lost romance when they undergo near-death experiences together.

2. It's exciting to go hikings because there's a chance you'll meet a madman who has knowledge about how the world will end and might just give you a clue how to survive all of it.

3. Government leaders must choose not to evade when calamities rise and must choose to die with his fellowmen who can't afford a ticket to flee. At least they died a hero.

4. Never bring a dog in your trips because it's inconvenient.

5. A no-girlfriend-since-birth geologist can date a president's daughter – provided that the president is dead.

6. Flying a plane is an important skill every man must learn. You'll never know when you could use that skill to save a family.

7 .There's no use even if you know how to swim. You can NEVER swim your way out against a tsunami, duhh??

8. The prestige of reckless driving. Over speeding is definitely the best way to get your family alive. Imagine how cool you would appear in your kids' eyes if they know their dad is a formula-one racing champ?

9. Never trust Americans with your life because they will never save you. An Indian astrophysicist who first discovered about the earth crust displacement never saved himself and his family in a tsunami. Thanks to the Americans.

10. There are many duplicates of the Mona Lisa painting. You can never know which one you see is real or fake in museums.

11. No matter how impossible things get – experienced quakes, survived chasing/flying fireballs, and got blown away by a gigantic wave – at the end of the 2 ½ hour movie – protagonists always come out alive.

12. CGI effects is one of the best inventions in this generation. It has helped companies produce movies and generate millions of dollars despite the film's poor plot and character depth.

What about you? Has the movie given you insights or life lessons too? Please feel free to let me know what you think. :)
